TAKE ACTION

1. ATTEND the Town Meeting Regarding the Town’s Flag Policy and Vote to Fly the Pride Flag in June

  • SIGN UP FOR UPDATES ON THE TOWN MEETING. At the meeting there will be a VOTE to amend the flag policy. Only registered Ridgefield voters are eligible to speak and VOTE. We need a strong turnout. For additional info or if you plan to speak or write email us at ridgefieldctpride@gmail.com
  • Bring a friend.  Share this info with at least 3 people who are supportive of our LGBTQ+ community.
  • Write a letter to the Board of Selectpersons about why it is important to you to see the Pride Flag flying in front of town hall during the month of June.
  • Speak at the town hall meeting.

2. Contact your representatives regarding their stance on LGBTQ+ rights.  Write a postcard, send a message or callInclude a personal story!!!!!! Thank them when they are supportive and call them out when they are not. If you have ideas for legislation, you can also contact them to ask them to sponsor it.

Some of the ways your State Representatives supported LGBTQ+ Equality:

  1. Expanded the definition of family in the FMLA bill.
  2. Passed “An Act Establishing A Task Force to Study The Effects of Hate Speech And Bullying On Children”
  3. Speak out repeatedly and consistently for LGBTQ+ Equality
