Kids in Crisis (Greenwich) – Located in Cos Cob, Connecticut Kids In Crisis provides emergency shelter, crisis counseling, and community education programs for children of all ages and families facing crisis. Crisis can include domestic violence, mental health concerns, homelessness, substance abuse, economic difficulties, and other critical challenges. The Kids In Crisis Helpline is staffed 24 hours a day with trained Crisis Counselors, and provides free, confidential phone and face-to-face intervention, counseling, and referrals. Since its founding in 1978, Kids In Crisis has provided vital 24-hour services to more than 160,000 children and teens, and their families. Providers, educators, community members, and family members are encouraged to call the 24-hour helpline: 203-661-1911 for support.

The Center for Empowerment & Education – for victims of interpersonal violence. CEE provides support services in the form of counseling and advocacy, crisis intervention, and emergency shelter. We empower individuals to find their voice and choose their path toward healing as they rebuild their lives. We are preventing and reducing interpersonal violence in the community through prevention education and awareness. We are reducing trauma by stopping violence from manifesting in the first place. Everyone deserves to live a life free from violence. We are here to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Local Pride Centers

Lighthouse – Lighthouse (a Kids in Crisis Program) is a peer-to-peer social support program for LGBTQ+ youth and their allies, providing weekly and monthly groups and occasional special events. Our groups are relaxed and social in nature. We build community through art, games, and discussion. No bullying is ever allowed, and everyone is given a chance to be heard in a safe and casual setting. Youth from any town are welcome at any group or special event. Triangles Community Center (Norwalk) – Triangle Community Center (TCC) is Fairfield County’s leading provider of programming and resources to nurture growth and connection within the LGBTQ community. TCC is home to more than two dozen free groups that meet weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly at the center. Groups include peer support, recovery, older adult daytime programming, crafts, sober social events, and youth groups. Our team of highly trained client advocates assists community members with social service navigation, food, drop-in services, document updates, healthcare navigation, and housing navigation at its Drop-In Center in Norwalk and at its satellite office at the Center for Family Justice in Bridgeport.

New Haven Pride Center (New Haven) – The mission of the New Haven Pride Center is to provide educational, cultural and social enrichment programming and LGBTQ+ competent and trauma-informed services for the LGBTQ+ community to make a positive contribution to the entire community of Greater New Haven and Connecticut.

The Loft (White Plains, NY) – The LOFT LGBTQ+ Community Center is a non-profit institution that provides a range of services for the LGBTQ+ Community in Westchester County, NY, and the Lower Hudson Valley Region.  The LOFT offers both in-person, virtual, and hybrid services, support groups, social activities, and special events like Westchester Pride, The Hudson Valley TransForum, and also runs The Trans Support of The Hudson Valley (TSHV), a program designed to assist and empower TGNCNB Communities across the lower Hudson Valley region. The LOFT was founded in 1983 and is currently located at 252 Bryant Ave, White Plains, NY 10605. 

Center Lane (White Plains, NY) – WJCS Center Lane was founded in 1995 and was the first and is still the only program and educational center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer/Questioning (LGBTQ+) youth, ages 13-21, in Westchester county. WJCS Center Lane provides affirming programming, facilitated by supportive adult experts, in welcoming spaces where youth can feel safe sharing difficult experiences, discussing important issues, developing friendships, problem solving with other youth and adult mentors, and engaging as leaders. Through in-person and virtual programming, youth gain a sense of community surrounded by peers and adults who understand them and who can help them understand themselves. We have a program Center in Yonkers’ Getty Square, but travel and partner with communities throughout Westchester to serve youth and adults.
